Target COO retiring after nine years on McDonald's BOD.
Mulligan was running Target when the company featured clothing and accessories for children who thought they were "trans" and also promoted the idea of Men being welcome in Target's Women's restrooms.

Good riddance. The entire BOD should be replaced, and Chris, Joe, and Myra should be FIRED.

Is it normal for the company (MCD) to announce the following?
"The retirement is not because of a disagreement with the Company on any matter relating to the Company's operations, policies, or practices."

Changes to the BOD are essential news for shareholders, but interestingly, they used the old politician's trick of announcing something at the end of the week and before what was predictably a jam-packed news weekend.
And so soon after backing away from thier DEI initiatives?

We need an Operator on the BOD. But it will NEVER happen. That idea died when Casper sold out and left.
Actually, that idea died in 1965 when McDonald's became a publicly held company. But it pops up here about once a year.
There are probably many legal reasons a franchisee on a BOD would be a conflict, but that's immaterial. If a McDonald's Owner/Operator existed who could stand up to the responsibility and pressure of representing the Operator community on the BOD why isn't that person heading up the NFLA? Legal issues aside, where are they?
President Trump has promised to release the confidential files concerning the 1963 assassination of President Kennedy. A topic that comes up in discussions about the assassination is the myth about a bullet that defined all laws of physics and changed direction several times after entering Kennedy's limousine. It's referred to as the "Magic Bullet." This bullet has never been found.
I submit some in the McDonald's Operatror community are hoping to find the "Magic Operator." Someone who could stay in compliance in their stores while standing up to the CEO, the rest of the BOD, and their legal team. The past 70 years have proven that to be an impossible task. A search in vain.

But if a bunch of Owner/Operators were determined to find a "Magic Operator" they'd have to form an independent group of Operators that didn't report to corporate and where there was safety in numbers. Something like ... the NOA.
