Oh, the backstory is pretty simple. Democrats are worried about a certain voting block in Michigan and are willing to throw the Israeli people and Jewish voters overboard. The Israeli Owner/Operator is loyal, of course, to Israel. Because Democrats run McDonald’s corporate, the Owner/Operator has to go.
My disclaimer: I know nothing about McDonald's operation in Israel. My assumptions are based on what's in the news and my knowledge of McDonald's corporate culture and its political leanings. .
Absolutely the right decision by McDonald’s .The uncontrollable developmental licence had to go . His decisions continued to damage the brand globally.
Hopefully, the franchise owner will be compensated fairly for his equity In the business. I have no idea what kind of franchise relationship laws exist in Israel, if any.
Franchises in Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Egypt, Bahrain and Turkey have distanced themselves from their Israeli counterpart and collectively pledged more than $3,000,000.00
Actually I am poster #3 ! A franchisee in Europe whose restaurants have been boycotted and down 27% on Sales . Many restaurants in Spain , UK , France and Germany going through similar boycotts and declines is sales . As a global brand , what one of us does affects us all !!
That’s all unfortunate but again, I think the franchisee reacted in the same way as thousands of Owner/Operators around the world. A major fire breaks out near one of your stores that might take a few days to put down. Many Operators would load up the truck with sandwiches, treats, and drinks and set up an aid station for the first responders in an appropriate location. I think the Operator acted in a very McDonald’s fashion, and no one could have predicted that the terrorists would drag McDonald’s into their propaganda war. I remember when one of the McDonald’s mottos was “Make a decision and ask for permission later.” .
