900 New McDonald's USA Stores?

That's faster USA growth than McDonald's had in the 1970s and 1980s.

McDonald’s plans 900 new restaurants in the US by 2027 - Bloomberg

We are letting this company management team destroy our equity and turn our multi-million dollar investments into garbage. And the NFLA, our supposed advocates, say NOTHING. They currently plan on building a lot more stores in 2024. What fool is going to buy them? The math just doesn’t work with the huge rents and buy-down costs. You have to do $4 million JUST TO BREAK EVEN!

To the above-everything you say is absolutely true. But what are you doing about it? it is IMPERARTIVE to join and support the NOA, they are the only ones fighting for us.

If you arent a member, then you have NO VOICE.

Hello All

Sorry but neither the NFLA nor the NOA give a damn about us Owner/Operators. The company has spit in our faces multiple times since 2016. We just let it continue. Chris K and the board are criminal looking to satisfy their short term wealth. What a group of self-centered liberals. When will the Owner Operators decide to say NO??? Our leadership Owner Operators just let this all occur... Guess they are waiting to get some of the new concepts and allow their initial investments to be cannibalized by the greed of the Chris K, Joe E and the corrupt Board. Ray and Fred are rolling over in their graves. SMH

Every one of us is a leadership O/O.

Everyone I know is furious. The question is how can I help? One option is to join the NOA, to get involved and help. Another is to run for office and walk the walk, help that way. Another is to form relationships with those who are already serving and help them. Maybe contact your reps in either or both organizations, discuss this and ask, "how can I help?" They know no more than we do and they could likely use our help.

Company leadership is clearly our largest threat so think creatively, figure out what you CAN do and do it. There are options here and venting certainly helps, feels better but at the end of the day just minding the store is not enough anymore.

I don't even know if it's legal to take our money, invest in R&D to develop a direct competitor and cannibalize our business. Maybe it is, maybe it isn't. Our franchise agreement certainly wouldn't allow for us to do it so why can they? Seems like there's something there worth pursuing.

I've been there, been steamrolled by the system and had nowhere to turn and the NOA came too late but there are options that require boldness, resolve and knowing that one is doing the right thing for themselves, for their fellow OO's and for the system that has provided so many opportunities and rewards for decades and generations of hard work.

Don't forget who is who here- you are the brand, these guys are transients. It's just another hop on their corporate journey to take from the efforts of others. You are the face of the brand in your stores, in your community. You work at this every day, they extract from your work.

It is now time to remember that you are not alone and the power is and always has been in the hands of OO's. We have an organization, actually two, that has the ability to harness and unleash that power but it requires men and women who are willing to figure out what to do and ultimately to actually do what it takes to right the ship.

What needs to be done? Get involved and figure that out. Others have and are but they need your personal help, and that will require sacrifice of your time and personal risk. They are risking their life's work, they have earned respect and an occasional thank you would be nice.

This isn't going to fix itself.

Absolutely right and do you know who needs to hear it? Your congressional representatives and senators in your home districts. NOA belongs to CFA and they have a lobby day on Capitol Hill in mid April. GO TO THIS EVENT AND TELL CONGRESS WHAT THEIR ACTUAL CONSTITUENTS AND TAXPAYERS IN THEIR HIOME DISTRICTS ARE GOING THROUGH! You provide the jobs in their districts, pay all of the sales, meals, real estate and income taxes and give to charities in the neighborhoods.

That doesn't come from Chicago. It comes from YOU! CFA will brief you and give you the talking points on a one page sheet if you are unsure about doing this. You won't walk into an office alone, you will be with someone that has been there before, probably an NOA member.

If you truly want to stop the abuse and extraction of your life savings, you must do this. Just complaining and doing nothing else will only make it worse. The suits hear you complain and feel emboldened by it because they expect that this is all that you will do.Prove them wrong. Show them who is boss.

NOA has, with CFA, already activated the FTC against these practices but FTC is just an agency. it isn't Congress. YOU HAVE TO GO TO CONGRESS WITH CFA IN APRIL!

Remember, YOUR license agreement requires that YOU are 100% committed and involved in your stores and core business. If McDonald's finds out YOU are invested in any other business enterprise, YOU will be kicked out of the system asap. You would think after their fiasco with Boston Market, Chipotle, Donatos Pizza, etc., they would learn a lesson. But for some reason, Corporate is never happy with THEIR core business or stock options.
