Loyalty program is yet another avenue to steal and give away food at a discount. Nobody in OPNAD is addressing the absurd promo and discount expense. I asked a a coop meeting what a reasonable expectation was for total promo cost, and the answer was “there is none. It’s the cost of doing business going forward.” Disgraceful!
We need an ROI on each of these offers. If they drive ticket, frequency and bottom line, great. If they just drive frequency at the expense of profitability at the restaurant level, time to change direction!
The real disgrace is that YOU DONT KNOW how your OPNAD rep votes. The individual votes are NOT published, so you have NO WAY of measuring if your OPNAD rep is representing your best interests or not!
If a person who was interested in McDonald's but doesn't really understand how McDonald's USA works had kept up with all the times "OPNAD" had been mentioned on this website, they would have reached the conclusion that OPNAD is/was a division of corporate that makes marketing decisions that are entirely in the interest of McDonald's Corp. with no consideration for the franchisees. .
