Its all a sham. I sat unnoticed in a lobby of a restaurant when a OA entered for a pace visit. The store wasnt manned and it was struggling.
But it wasnt manned and been struggling since the new owners purchased, some two years ago. The difference is this new owner is a LEO, darling of the corporation, the new mega franchisee.
The OA simply turned around, said Ill be back later, and left. Now if your a franchisee, when's the last time you were giving such an opportunity?
Your thinking FAILED visit, and you'd be correct ... if it was you.
And I wonder,if one cant spend the time with 6-7 stores to be able to dive into the ever changing operational details. Especially in todays labor market and rising inspection regimes.
How does one get to grow to 40-50 stores? Becoming the model Ray and Fred feared, and loser competitors adopted?

Franchisee McDonalds. Where franchisees have more done by 9AM in the morning, than what Chris K. achieves all day.
