"Starbucks' model has always been focused on urban customers. Let's see if this works." Not totally true, you might mean business office areas or downtown areas but not "urban areas". I am located in price-sensitive rough urban areas I have seen over the last five years two Starbucks close and there is one Starbucks in my area but 5 McDonald's within the same area. Starbucks is for people that have more disposable income or is an indulgent visit in my area, not someone that will visit regularly.

Maybe I should have used "metro". It's just different operating a store on the ground floor of a 30 story office tower vs, a suburban drive-thru.
.
Ex MCD Regional VP Debbie Stroud leaves her mark on Starbucks (as VP Operations) via Drive thru initiative.
