The only way to stop this is with your vote. 80% of owners belong to the NOA. IF someone runs for a coop or NFLA position and is not a NOA member you should seriously question their commitment to the owners and vote for someone else. All of the NFLA ET members are in the NOA. How can you vote for or trust someone who is not?
To the last commenter: You are exactly right, you should question a non NOA members commitment to owners and that is a great point, however to each to each their own. There will always be that percentage that blindley buy into the "we are partners" bs and a lot of them will become rich beyond their wildest dreams. I just saw an operator more than double in growth at the beginning of the year, not a NOA member and has worked their ass off in their business unit all at the companies bidding. Company will expand with non NOA members as much as they can and there will be operators that see this and profit from it. I believe the better use of NOA members efforts is to figure out the best way to turn our influence into tangible action. I am not so sure the occasional email is optimizing our strength or influence. Dollar drinks is a perfect example, we know based on the NOA survey the majority of operators disagree with dollar drinks, yet here we are still talking about it. While i hate to think where we would be at without the NOA, there is more that can be done.
If Mark Kalinowski calls you, talk to him. It’s simple. Influence the people who management care about. They don’t care about you. They care about the stock analysts.
It is high time that the NOA turns to a professional negotiator.
The longer we stay with Operators negotiating the more it becomes David vs. Goliath. Let’s take a page from the Unions and use their methods of collective bargaining. The Pro negotiatior will not be bullied by more or less stores. But will rep. us as a whole.

Stores will just go to the menu board, starting with all the discounting offers. Smart ones have already started the transition.
Operators need to agree, bye, bye Dollar drinks.
We truly need to stop threatening to stop dollar drinks and just do it.
