Smart man... he knows the meaning of Breakeven. Why give the added top line sales, if there is no relief to assure something passes underneath.
Evidence that operators understand both math and business. MCD management understands only the math of financial engineering. Operators are simply cash streams to them. It doesn't matter if operators make a profit. All payments to MCD are profit to MCD.
If the operators goes under, simply take his business and resell it at a 100% profit to MCD to his neighbor operator.
