Automatic withdraw is mandated - so rent is automatic. There will be no proactive response from the franchiser, and the current reactive measure is seriously lacking. It will continue to lack any reasonable response with the majority of restaurants not under company control.
What a joke!!!! Rent deferrals will be due in 120 days. Can u say huge ballon payment. Uhhhh...... how does that help ??? “No we won’t reduce service fees” hello- I’m getting very little service!!! What a joke !! They position it as huge help. Funny if not so sad.
I have never drunk the kool-aid and have spoken my mind - respectfully. Yes - I have been admonished by the company in the past. There’s even a letter in my file that’s as wrong as the day is long.
Today, I was proud to be a part of McDonald’s. The actions taken by our company, banks and suppliers were outstanding. They took a huge hit and joined us in the battle. A unified front is essential. This is an all out war against a deadly disease and economic upheaval. Please consider setting aside your past feelings and focus on the present and future. Feel free to debate other options that the three legged stool could and should consider. In the meantime, let’s join forces and help our communities and employees to the best of our ability.
They say no Operator will fail. Then they say you can gladly pay me in August for cheeseburger sales today. The share of the pie they keep, mine will have dissolved. Other brands are leading the way on franchisee treatment. Our #1 QSR brand has prioritized profit over franchisee. People first, as long as you are shareholder or corporate people. To Corp, if you want to lead and be better than the competition, you better treat your franchisees better than the competition.
Anybody on yesterdays webcast care to explain this statement by a MCD exec- " we will not come out of this whole" ??
In a time when people need positive thoughts, prayers, statements and actions they say this? It tells you of the mindset of the leadership of this company!
You have got to be kidding me! MCD is DEFERRING rent not canceling it. This is Hardly significant. Subway is doing far more . MCD is giving up NOTHING by deferrals, they just postpone their largess for a few months. Buy a clue (unless you are a Chicago plant??)
I am the Anonymous that laid out my plan what McD. should do. I still stand behind my recommendations, with one big exception. I have truly under estimated the sales effect of this Crisis, my new estimate is at least 45% down for the whole nation. From March 15th to ?????
It is time for each Owner to get serious about making cuts in Outside Services, Utilities and Postponing anything that takes cash out of your pocket. Everything we thought we needed is now a Luxury. If you have been around a long time you know what to do, if you have been around a short time call an old timer talk to them, let them coach you. McD. will not be of help, most have never had to do this.
A “Best Bet” once you get past the current Liquidity Issue, if you have interest paying Cashless Accounts let the Deferrals pileup there. At the very least it will pay for the annual cost of the accounts.
I am making a spread sheet on the things that are rolled back, I do not want to under estimate what I owe when that time comes for the BALLOON payments, by thinking the pile in my Accounts will be enough. You HAVE to KNOW.
Additionally, It is time for OpNad and CoOp to reduce our fees by at least 65%. We will need that money to put back in our towns when the time comes. We need it NOW to stay afloat.
I would love to hear other ”Best Bets” during this “Slash For Cash” time.
Good Luck to everyone. Stay Positive and Stay Safe
Preserve cash. Cash gives you options. Forget the government helping you. Most of the D side hates you as a provider of fast food and litter and plastic. They see this crises as an opportunity to wash us out of American culture. Save you money.
