The fake meat burger, which does NOT taste like beef, contains 920mg of Salt. That's 61% of the maximum TOTAL Daily recommended salt total set by the AMA!!(1500mg) Eat at your own peril !!!!
The "beef fat" taste is due to a high content of coconut oil, which is 82% saturated fat, which can raise LDL, or “bad,” cholesterol higher than butter or real beef fat. Need to increase your Lipitor!
Remember the famous "pickles in the parking lot" situation that set Ray off years ago over non-adherence to the successful formula? Chris K and his predecessors have taken us so far from our identity that we may never get our good name back. The ship tends to be floating aimlessly, without a compass or destination.
McDonald's P.L.T. burgers test better in urban locations Jan. 8, 2020 2:51 PM ET|About: McDonald's Corporation (MCD)|By: Clark Schultz, SA News Editor
McDonald's (MCD +1.9%) confirms to Reuters that demand in Canada for the chain's P.L.T burger made with Beyond Meat (NASDAQ:BYND) patties was higher in urban areas during the recent test. The restaurant operator also disclosed that one franchisee with more rural locations opted out of the second phase of the test.
The read-through is that McDonald's could bring the concept to the U.S. in a more limited way than the national roll-out that some analysts have forecast.
I asked my personal Doctor to read the label of the plant based burgers being tested and give me his opinion. He said, "people would be better off eating the meat". He said, "the ingredients are terrible".
In my opinion, McDonald's would be better off increasing the quality of our own products and telling that story.
Is "Fake Meat" just a fad that management believes we should just jump on because it is a fad or do they believe that fake meat will replace real meat? clearly fake meat is being engineered to taste good first and not healthier. What is really driving this in McDonald's??
The mid-west is BEEF country. Can you imagine the backlash!? No Thank You! One thing my business sense tells me, you don't grow sales by pissing off the majority of your customer base - to reach a fractional percentage.
I had a backlash from the Cattlemen’s Association and local families when they heard we were using Real beef from outside of the US. (Australia) a few years ago. I can imagine what it will be like if we try to bring in Fake Meat.
Also, the stories about what is in our Nuggets and beef patties has plagued us for years, Now I see the same thing starting ALL over again by adding this product. Just to please the .001%, give me a break.
I am looking for the Off Ramp on the Interstate Highway of Stupid.
If vegetarians hate meat so much why do they try so hard to make everything taste just like meat?
This is up there in the dumbest, wokest and most misguided initiatives I’ve heard of. Watch the numbers, they’ve been known to fudge them- just like McCafe.
But the numbers will work for the vendor - feel free to check my math and add your own assumptions. If the average U.S. McDonald's store sells ten fake meat sandwiches a day times 14,000 stores that's 140,000 units a day. Assuming those are quarter pound patties that's 35,000 pounds of fake meat a day. Times 30 days that's over a million pounds a month.
A start-up that's selling McDonald's a million pounds a month of anything will have some excited shareholders. .
Richard said" I can see that - fake meat will sell in the tony parts of New York City but will be ignored by real customers in the heartland."
I think that MCD corporate will definitely try that, but the fake meat won't sell to richer customers. They go to restaurants that already sell fake meat dishes. I don't see a rich lawyer or Doctor running to McDonalds because it has a fake meat sandwich. You can get an impossible but get at DelFrisco's Grille today. Just sayin'
