Fake Meat Fail
Keep in mind when analysts are looking at Beyond Meat they are looking at total sales
for Beyond Meat products. 14,000 McDonald's stores X 30 a day is a lot of fake meat.
Analysts who cover Beyond Meat have no concern for McDonald's unit profitability.
A McDonald's roll-out would make Beyond Meat investors very happy, even at ten a day.
Are 30 plant-based burgers a day enough for McDonald's?

Does MCD still look transactions per 1,000? Where would this stand?
Not enough to try to free up walkin space, let alome sell. It woukd require cook to order, then cant be cooked on grills that cook beef, pork or chicken. Its a delusional mess. So A definate OPNAD pass.
Do you mean OPNAD will pass on the whole idea or OPNAD will pass a budget that includes million$ in fake meat advertising?
.
I am sure the Poster meant OPNAD will pass a budget that will include fake meat. These Operators on OPNAD have NO regard for what it takes operational or what makes sense profitability wise. They get sold a bunch of Numbers & Figures that NEVER pan out and then they move on to the next item on the agenda.
We can not sell enough Salads or Tenders to make financial sense, why do we think we can sell enough fake meat?
On another note; the Atlanta Field Office has just changed out their VP for 4th or 5th time in like 3 years. This amount of change is devastating to any true lasting improvement or continuity.
At least the new Atlanta person has decades of McDonald's experience. There's a huge experience gap in those changes announced last week. And, many moving up are basically bean counters with no in-store experience. I guess that's to be expected considering who's in charge.

Howard, to answer your great question. I don't think I've heard units per thousand in a very long time. but you're right. if we did use that metric more often, we would be faster and deliver a better experience overall, in my opinion.
And to that point, it seems we have an identity crisis. we don't know who we want to be and who our actual customers are.
OPNAD will bote this in, as their decisions is based on their personal business expansion... not the overall business sense. Most lack that, hence the saying... Those with knowledge work. Those without, serve on Boards. For running a real business requires more than a part-time focus.
