Quadrant Strategies' survey of 1,154 McDonald's Operators paints a picture of a company
that hired a management team off the street and that management team broomed the deep bench of people who actually knew the business. Then they tried to "reinvent" McDonald's.
These events will be discussed in business schools for years to come.
It's particularly interesting that "Operators with more restaurants tend to be more
dissatisfied with their cash flow performance than those who own only one restaurant".
It wasn't supposed to be that way. Going to a Burger King style of franchising was supposed
to give the larger Operators unlimited ability to reinvest in the business and enhance the McDonald's real estate portfolio.
Of all the blunders the new McDonald's USA management team has made, long-term,
changing the franchise model might be the biggest.

Easterbrook, Chris K ,et al are a CANCER that NUST be REMOVED! Are you listening Wall Street???
If I had a survey with results that poor with the way my customers or employees thought of my management of my business or restaurants McDonald's Corporation employees would be telling me to sell.
My question is Why would you not join the NOA?
- Are you satisfied where we are going as a Brand?
- Is your Cash Flow where you thought it would be in 2017 & 2018?
- Is the New Field First approach working for you?
- Do you feel the Elected OpNad, NLC & Supply Chain Operators represent your views?
- Do you Believe that the Operators that met in Tampa & Dallas have it All Wrong?
If the answer to any of the above questions are No you should be a member.
Here are some possible Yes questions.
- Have you received mixed signals from McD.?
- Have you questioned something in the last 2 years without a satisfactory response from
McD.?
Like: why did Ronald have to go away, Rewrite, 2nd Gen, Rent Structure or maybe parts of
BBV 2020
- Have you felt like you are the only one that feels this way?
If the answer to any of the above questions are Yes you should be a member.
Remember “None of Us is as good as All of Us”
We need operators at our leadership positions that care about small operators.
McDonald's Corp has lost respect for the owners, they no longer care about our financial well-being. The top-down management style, the intolerance for speaking candidly, the lack of service supplied, made worse by the reduction of regions/field offices-our 4% isn't being given to us.
If MCD wants to be a first class company and remain the leader in the industry the deep and frequent discounting has got to stop. We have got to be smarter about discounting. This has always been true.
I would like to have a relationship with the corporation that makes me feel that the corp is part of the solution and not part of the problem, making my job more difficult. Too much grading, not enough support helping me run better restaurants.
