You never know what private equity groups goals are they might be looking at buying units at a discount revitalize them and the brand, expand a 1000 units then sell the company at a $500mil preminum/profit Roark private equity though has a history of hanging on to brands.
The interesting thing when you look further into the CEO Paul Brown and the CEO of Popeye's Cheryl Bachelder they have done really well revitalizing old tired brands and the first thing they always say they went and spoke with the franchisee's if they can make the franchisee's happy and profitable sales will grow.
