I truly miss the days when we were a FAMILY Restaurant that went out of its way to NOT get involved in ANY Social or Political Issue.

One policy adopted by Kroc and Turner was that we have good customers on both sides of all issues. Thus, we don't take a position on them. We just talk about our food quality and fast service,clean restaurants, outstanding value that they all will enjoy. It worked and we were a respected company. Since we have attempted to be an instrument of social change we have people that hate us. They critize our food, our management, our marketing, everything. We started responding to every crazy interest group out there. We stopped using butter, changed the French fry oil, took real mayo out of the Big Mac sauce. Our food became bland and sales declined but we thought we were being politically correct and that the public would support those efforts. We were wrong. We are still wrong and our leadership just doesn't get it.
