Most veterans of the Clinton White House went on to Wall Street or broadcasting. It appears that many Obama administration types will end up in Oak Brook.
A quote from yesterday's Ad Age story: "McDonald's U.S. Chief Marketing Officer Deborah Wahl, who has called the rollout 'the people's launch,' spoke with Ad Age about the various aspects of the campaign." I don't know about anyone else, but "the people's launch" sounds kinda creepy, in a Berniesque sorta way :)
Who appoints these people?? Why would she be appointed to the MCD board of directors. This is supposed to be a business. MCD needs strong business leadership from directors that have had extensive business experience. What has she ever done?? I just don't understand it.
Please relax! That headline is an attempt at humor. There is no sign Michelle Obama is going to be on the MCD BOD. But it is true they are filling the Oak Brook campus with left wing, anti-business political operatives and European socialists. However, when Bill Clinton was Governor of Arkansas Hilary was on the boards of both TCBY and Wal-Mart.
"the people's launch" does sound like something from the former East Germany doesn't it? Also, McDonald's Corp. people increasingly call employees "workers".
