How would you like to rebuild 400 restaurants!!

400 stores that are understaffed and poorly managed.

There is only one reason the company sells stores and that is because they cannot make money. An o/o will make money during the turnaround when money is actually being rung up. However, after a year the company will go to that operator and give him "HIS" vision plan for the future being two years. Which will consist of rebuilds, reimages, relocations and deep discounting so he can't pay for it or take any money home. Then they own him. It will be interesting to see who buys them. They did the same thing in Latin America. Sold a big number of stores to one group. Today, they are nearly broke after implementing the reinvestment plan. They are talking about selling stores here in the USA but none that are profitable or current with the NRBS. Beware!! They will make money on the sale or they won't do it and that is the only reason they will sell it. On the O/O side there is no good reason to buy it unless you can make money without over burdening your organization with debt and a clear agreement on reinvestment.

That is the key words, I agree. "Clear agreement on reinvestment" safeguarding from bank covenants to McDs offside equity levels.

We were contacted by our "Business Consultant" today suggesting that we transition into the new unisex uniforms for our crew. Our cost would be close to $120,000.00
What we have looks just fine. Be prepared! Talk about being out of touch with reality. Declining sales, huge debt service and they are talking to us about new crew uniforms!!!

Especially out of touch with the fact that 60-70% of customers never see any more than the sleeve of the drive-thru person taking their money or handing them food. I was inside the dining room of six McDonald's this past weekend and I couldn't describe a modern McDonald's crew uniform if you water-boarded me. Whatever Oak Brook department is in charge of this would probably say that shows the uniforms don't "pop", I say it means as long as the uniform is clean and neat it just doesn't matter.

There is one place uniforms matter, while Smashburger does a lot of things right the idea of their crew uniforms consisting of an ill-fitting T-shirt is distracting and kind of gross. T-shirts are only flattering to a small % of the population, especially after they've eaten a lot of Smashburgers.

You want to be a "modern, progressive burger company" go to a Wholefoods and see what they are wearing; their own clothes with an apron and individual name tags each employee designs for themselves. I am sure they have some dress standards and I am not sure we need to go that far but our "new" uniforms look like every QSR in the industry be a leader not a follower Mr. Andres! Or since regions or Franchisees are suppose to have that entrepreneurial spirit now someone should go off and do their own.

Their response is, What we have now is being discontinued.
