Good question. Maybe not until a rewrite? This isn't just about raising the minimum wage. It's about making McDonald's (and other franchisors)the deep pockets in employment lawsuits.
If McDonald's corporate employees were in the restaurants dictating to Operators how to handle all employment issues (to protect McDonald's from litigation) the opportunities for conflict are endless.
McDoanlds has a very serious problem. In order for them to be successful on appeal they will have to consider revising how they monitors franchises. Vis a Vis Grading, Mystery Shops, Reporting software. If they get away from those things would they eliminate the service fee? Not going to make that announcement to Wall St. The other side of the coin is beef up staff and increase service fee? How could the stores afford that? It's bad enough we pay for lack of service at this point.
McDonald is already doing investigations to protect the brand. They hire attorneys to come to your market and interview your employees and even X employees as well. If they are not from your state and not listed on the Bar then they say they are investigators. If they are not licensed in your state to investigate so what they do it anyway. They tell you upfront that you are not the client and they will not share anything with you. Will not tell the scope or extent of the interviews or who they are going to interview. So, hey they are already do it. I'm sure the NRLB would like to know about this. Tactics in intimidation and bullying.
That is intimidation and bullying and very intrusive. But, the union thugs are saying that McDonald's sets your employee pay rates, hours, and who you hire and fire. Wouldn't that be fun?

MCD Corp. operating costs would explode if NLRB ruling stands. Entire new corporate bureaucracy required. Double or triple corporate field staff?
Would service fees double or triple as well?

Looks like endless conflicts in Russia right now.
They (Corp) already dictate Menu prices ,promotions, reinvestments, etc. Its not such a leap to imagine obamas NRLB would find them liable.
Hows that $60,000 donation to Obama doing for you Don Thompson??
Field service, as it exists today , is NOT COMPETENT to advise operators on employment issues.
What about flat out not competent?
